About The Mommyhood Project

Hi, I’m Cortney.

I’m a 30-something working mom, living in the suburbs and trying to keep our busy life pulled together. I met my hubby in 2011, we were married in early 2012 – which you can read all about in my How I Became Mrs. Galster series. Our wonder-child, Ricky, was born the following September and has been the greatest blessing of our life.

We found out we were pregnant again in December of 2013, and were overjoyed! In May, our joy turned to grief when our sweet baby girl was stillborn at 25 weeks. It has been an emotional and heart wrenching process, but we are committed to moving forward in a positive way. You can read more about our journey here.

In April 2015, our third blessing, Christopher, arrived. After an emotionally and physically difficult pregnancy, he’s an absolute joy. Having him was definitely worth the pregnancy-after-loss journey.

Above is me with my hubs, Rick. He likes to torment me by licking his finger and sticking it in my ear and saying that my feet aren’t as beautiful as his. I get him back by sticking baby lotion in his armpits when he’s not looking. It’s a very loving relationship.

This is Ricky when he was a kid. I love this picture. Almost as much as I love him. And based on this picture I can tell you our children will be (are?) very attractive (bonus points if you can name that movie).

Here’s my gorgeous baby boy, Ricky, back when he was actually a baby. He happens to be one of the cutest babies in the world. Yes, I’m serious. And no, I’m not biased at all. He’s the light of our life and I love spending every second I can with him!

Now he’s a little bit bigger…and a little more into anything and everything he can get his little paws on. Especially if it’s something that belongs to mommy. And even MORE especially if he knows he’s not supposed to have it.

Toddler in charge, I’m telling you.

And here’s my other baby boy…he seems so sweet and innocent. That’s what happens when one of your children is mobile. It makes you appreciate when one is NOT mobile.

So that’s me. Life in the ‘burbs as a writer and marketing consultant, wife of a small business owner, mama of my two amazing little men, one sweet girl in heaven and a giant, slobbering dog isn’t always easy – but that’s why you’re here, right?

Have a question? Feel free to shoot me an email. I read them all – Promise!

Anyway, enjoy and thanks for stopping by!
